My department had its thesis show- a compilation of documentaries about interactive art and short films by animators, 2D and 3D. The bottom one more accurately captures my awkwardness. But I love the darkened hair-shapes and the face shapes of the top ones.

This will, hopefully, be my 3D Design final: a sculpture that incorporates (but does not illustrate) time. I love it.

Rembrandt

"It is the head of an old lion at bay, worn and melancholy, yet conscious of his strength, determined and a little defiant."
Rembrandt van Rijn painted one of his best self-portraits in 1658. Bankrupt and nearing the end of his life, he dared to dress himself in fine, exotic clothes and hold a silver staff. It is one of the greatest portraits ever painted by the master.

I started drawing my own self-portraits each day for the last week, and decide today to post them. They are simple, not masterpieces, but I draw them for myself and not for an assignment or exercise. It is a little discipline, a little introspection, and a little of getting to know myself better.
